چکیده
A flower-like nanostructured MnO2 with near-infrared (NIR) light-triggered high photothermal conversion capability of 30% and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation ability was successfully developed. Different from the reported nanomaterials those were used in nanomedicine field for only relieving tumor hypoxia and/or imaging, inherently acts as a competent agent simultaneously enhanced photodynamic therapy. light triggered

Dendrimer porphyrin-coated gold nanoshells for the synergistic combination of photodynamic and photothermal therapy.
A dendrimer porphyrin (DP)-coated gold nanoshell (AuNS-DP) was prepared for the synergistic combination of photodyanmic and photothermal therapy. The resultant AuNS-DP successfully exhibited the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) as well as photothermal effect for the simultaneous application of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT).
متن کاملPerfluorocarbons in photodynamic and photothermal therapy
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) belong to the category of phototherapy and are based on the photophysical generation of either noxious reactive oxygen species, thereby inducing oxidative stress, or rather cell-hostile environmental conditions (local hyperthermia) with the general aim to destroy abnormal tissues. A great advantage of both strategies is the fact that the...
متن کاملBiodegradable and Multifunctional Polymer Micro-Tubes for Targeting Photothermal Therapy
We describe an innovative form of polymer micro-tubes with diverse functions including biodegradation, magnetic manipulation, and photothermal effect that employs and activates photothermal therapy to target cancer cells. The micro-tube comprised soybean protein isolate, poly-l-glutamic acid, magnetite nanoparticles, plus gold nanoparticles. Through electrostatic force, these components, with o...
متن کاملNanoparticle Platforms for Combined Photothermal and Photodynamic Therapy
Phototherapy is a promising strategy for cancer treatment due to its selective and localized therapeutic effect by laser irradiation. Photothermal therapy damages malignant cells by using heat converted from light by an agent. On the other hand, photodynamic therapy uses photosensitizers that become cytotoxic upon irradiation with laser light at excitation wavelength. As singular treatment of e...
